What to do when you need more space on your iPad.
De cluttering iPad
To check your storage usage in Settings, go to General, scroll down a bit and check Usage

Delete all apps you were not using
If you're not sure about deleting an app you can open it on your home screen and delete it from that.

Check on how much storage you saved after you do this

Delete photo doubles
Go to settings, iCloud photos and camera and turn off iCloud Photo Library

Also turn off my photo stream

If you have a lot of photos on your phone or iPad you can use cloud storage options either iCloud, dropbox,  Google photos, Flicker, MSOneDrive

You can also store them on the hard drive of your computer. Synch with Photos.

Check out Photo Transfer App in the App Store.  You can move photos to any computer with this app.

You have back ups of all the photos you deleted in your photos app. If you're sure you do not want to use on your iPad you can go in and delete them. Your iPad or iPhone keeps them for 30 days before deleting.

Go back to check the storage.

Now see what taking up most of the room.
Podcasts?  No harm in deleting. You can get them later.

Some can't be deleted from settings. IBooks. Open app to delete books you do not want.

Bring apps up to date. Go to App Store. Select updates. Update All or do it one at a time.

Back up to preserve settings.  Use iCloud backup or iTunes backup.  Some recommend a separate backup of images and videos.

and perhaps even meeting authors...eBooksForEveryone.org ..... library.clamsnet.org and clamsnet.lib.overdrive.com are all good. Local bookstore websites: www.booksonthecape.com....
4.
www.concordbookshop.com and The Poisoned Pen (AZ) 5. Newspaper resources:

July 20, 2015 iPad Club Meeting

The July iPad Club is scheduled for Monday, July 20 at 1:30 pm at the Chatham Community Center.

• Updates to the iPad and iPhone include iOS 8.4 and iOS 9. Find out why you should update your devices ASAP and what the changes are.

• Apple Music - Find out why you should try it out for free for three months, and how you can set it up so it will not automatically renew if you do not want to subscribe.

• New fun toys for my devices. I read a lot of tech news these last months and think I have found two gadgets that have a true Wow Factor!

Pencil is a very fancy stylus costing $40 to $60 that allows you to do wondrous things in your drawing apps, especially Paper 53, a free app with all free in-app purchases. if there are artists in the group, you have to get this on Amazon and do a program for us. I am NOT an artist, as you will see, but I will demonstrate how this smart pencil works.

Cardboard from Google is a Virtual Reality viewer that works with iPhones. VR is the next big thing that is coming, or rather, already here. I will demonstrate this tool and talk about how much fun it is to take an Urban Hike in Paris, Rome, NYC, or Venice, visit famous museums, view a Mask exhibit, and enjoy a wonderful Kaleidoscope in 3D.  Innovators are now, producing movies in HD 3D for VR viewers, and many games are coming out shortly to play on these viewers. Yes, it gave me motion sickness, even though it is only made of cardboard.

Heads up for August. The August 17 iPad Club meeting will be august!  IPad and book clubs get on well together. Joan Greene and Lane Byrd will present all the many resources they have found to enhance your book reading.

Hope to see you all this summer. IPad and iPhone classes will resume in September. Think about some classes you would be interested in attending.
